Experience the uniqueness of the Santorini seabed and try a new adventure while in Santorini. Dive with experts to explore the unique underwater world of the island. Diving takes place near the volcanic islands of Palea Kameni, Nea Kameni, Thirassia and Aspronisi. You will have the unique opportunity to dive among coral reefs, shipwrecks and caves. You will also have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to wall dive and visit the first submerged memorial tomb of Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

Accompanied by a professional Dive master or Instructor you will have the chance to try scuba diving for the first time in safety, while exploring the sea bottom of Santorini. A fun and safe activity that should be on your bucket list!

You do not need to be athletic to try scuba diving. Anyone can do it thanks to the Discover Scuba Diving programme* (see under the “Know before you go” tab the 2 different options to choose).

For those who seek a relaxing experience like fishing, the Aegean Sea is undoubtedly one of the most popular fishing destinations in Greece. Its crystal clear waters host numerous of different types of fish and sea creatures.

During the full-day cruise we will head towards the volcano and on the way we will make trolling to catch tunas. These fish usually travel on the route between the Caldera coasts and the volcano. Other fish we may catch are tunnies, pickerels, and saddled breams.

Yacht captain and fishing expert have a thorough knowledge of the area and select the best spots for fishing, sailing across  the coastline of southern Santorini. Just before the end of the full-day experience, besides the tasting of the local cuisine you should possibly prepare dishes with fish you caught yourselves!

We will make a second stop in a quiet bay of the Volcano island to make some jiggering to try to catch various fish that use to live in the sea bottom. Snorkeling equipment is also provided, so you can swim in the deep blue waters along the coasts of the Volcano and the Hot Springs.

Of course if any person of this private experience is not keen on fishing you should know that there are plenty of interesting things to do on board! Such as swimming, snorkeling, sunbathe, relaxing, tasting delicacies and drinks (Wine and beers) and enjoying the unique volcanic landscape of Santorini and the famous sunset while others are trying to catch the fishes!

Other places we can visit are:  Red Beach, White Beach, Black Mountain and other secluded beaches and bays.

Know Before you Go:

Don’t forget to bring your camera. The crew will take care of your belongings while you swim. Bring always a hat, sunglasses, windbreaker and appropriate shoes.

For Scuba diving, upon arrival to the Dive Center your diving equipment will be assigned along with the other participants of your group.

A special program for people new to diving provides the opportunity to learn this sport in a fun, relaxed and natural atmosphere, in a real setting.

It's an introductory scuba diving lesson guided by an experienced and certified instructor. With this course you will learn how to use the scuba gear, and how to "breathe" underwater while scuba diving.

It's an easy introductory course that will help you step in the scuba diving world. Over 2 hours you will learn in shallow water how to use the scuba gear, and how to dive. The first dive takes place in a rocky reef where fascinating marine creatures can be found. An additional dive in open water around Caldera and Volcano can be provided if you want to explore the underwater sea bed of Santorini!

A private instructor will be assigned to your semi-private group and a Speedboat will transport all participants to the first dive site for scuba diving. Begin with a training dive lasting between 5 and 10 minutes with your diver guide. Experience a fun dive lasting 20 - 30 minutes in a maximum depth of 6 meters with your diver guide. Enjoy a break with a snack, cool water and refreshments provided and Continue to the second dive site. Have a fun dive for 35-45 minutes with your diver guide at a maximum depth of 12 meters. Return by a speedboat to the Dive Center or meet the Yacht to continue the Full Day Cruise. Receive your Scuba Diving Diploma!

For certified divers:

Same program is offered without a training session.

Certified divers will do 2 dives of 35-45 minutes each, with a dive guide.

Depending on your skill level, you can go deeper than beginners.

Do I need a doctor’s certificate if I want to take scuba diving lessons ?

If you want to take lessons for any diving qualification (whether you have never dived before or if you want to continue your diving training), you need to provide us with a letter from a pathologist (GP) and/or cardiologist certifying your state of health and your ability to dive.

Is the diving activity insured?

Diving Center (Instructors) is insured with DAN but it is advisable that divers should also be insured. If you have your own insurance you should e-mail it to us prior to the experience or show proof of it to the diving center.

Scuba Diving Sites

Come see the scorpion fish, lobsters, moray eels, groupers, Spirograph worms, gorgeous sponges, nudibranchs with their extraordinary colors and forms, and octopuses.

The most popular dive sites are:

• • MESA PIGADIA AREA, with its uniquely structured caves made out of lava.
  • CALDERA BEACH, a remote island beach with an incredible view of Santorini and the volcano, near all the dive spots.
  • ADIAVATI REEF, where you can see the immersed ruins.

Other interesting dive sites include:

• ASPRONISI SILAND descend to 250 meters with the wall dive beginning at 4 meters and increasing to 70 meters.
• PERISSA ROCK, with a pass-through canyon.
• KAMARI POINT, with another wall dive and a little cave filled with marine life.
• TAXIARCHIS WRECK, beginning at 4 meters and going down from 1-16 meters.

In April-May or late September-October carrying a light jacket is advisable.

It’s advisable also to choose dark coloured bathing suits if you are planning to swim in the Hot Springs. Iron and Sulphur can stain light-coloured materials.
